My name is Mick Kelly and I have worked in television for more than 20 years, specialising in factual content. My past credits range from sports news stories for fast turnaround channels like Sky Sports News to factual entertainment documentaries for BBC, ITV, Channel Four and Channel Five.

I now teach television broadcasting and journalism at UCFB Wembley to degree students and this blog explains some of the basic skills and techniques required in TV broadcasting. It will hopefully be useful to students preparing for a career in the industry.
